US secretary of State and the establishment of the Palestinian state

The US secretary of state Collin Powell said in statements he made on Monday evening that he had informed the Saudi Arabian crown prince and the Moroccan king that in case a cease-fire is achieved and the Palestinian leadership can return back to take part in the peace efforts, he will be then in need of the Arab help to inform the Palestinians and the Arab public that violence is not the means to achieve our optimum objective to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Powell also said that the Arab leaders would not expect a complete Israeli withdrawal until they speak in a loud voice, in remarks to ending the Palestinian suicide operations. A voice that Washington wants to hear from the Arab states.
