Moroccan environment network denounces Israel's destruction of Palestinian environment
Palestine-Morocco, Politics, 4/9/2002

The Moroccan network of environment and sustained development (REMED) vigorously denounced Israel's actions that are harmful to environment and called Israeli premier Ariel Sharon "criminal of environment and humanity."

The network deplores that during the first year of the 2nd Intifadah, 13 million of square meters of Palestinian farming land were destroyed and 385,808 tress uprooted.

In the same period, the Israeli army has destroyed 180 wells, 438 water facilities and 2,220 bee hives, says the association which also reports that the Palestinian industrial sector has lost US$ 1.13 billion, unemployment has climbed to 70% and 50 % of population is living below poverty line.

These are the partial losses of an Israeli war against environment and humans in Palestine, says the association which sees that condemning the Zionist total extermination plan is not enough and that Sharon should be arrested for "universal crime."
