Egypt protests against Israeli attack on the press

Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat al-Sherif denounced the repeated attacks targeting Egyptian journalists by Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian territories . Sherif today asked Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher to officially protest against the Israeli soldiers' onslaught on the Egyptian Nile T.V. Channel office in the Palestinian lands.
Sherif asked Maher to lodge a protest note with the Israeli side and hold these authorities fully responsible for the recurrent attacks on correspondents and reporters in the Palestinian territories.
Sherif said that Israel should pay compensation for the harm done to the journalists.
Also, the Amnesty International Organisation and the Journalists Sans Frontiers were addressed regarding the Israeli attacks on the reporters operating in the Palestinian lands.
Egyptian press offices abroad were assigned to contact world parliaments and human rights organisations and apprise them of the Israeli attacks on media
Sherif has earlier accused Israeli forces of attacking the correspondents of Egyptian television, the TV News Channel and the correspondent of Middle East News Agency (MENA). Minister of Information Safwat A1 Sherif said that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry presented official protests.
At a Cabinet meeting Sunday under Prime Minister Atef Ebeid, the Minister of Information denounced the aggression of Israeli forces on the correspondents and representatives of Egyptian and Arab press.
