Mubarak warns of dangerous risks to int'l peace
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 4/5/2002

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday warned of the dangerous risks to internatinooal peace in case Israel maintained its hostile policy and attempts to impose a settlement by force.

President Mubarak, in an address to the world carried live by the Egyptian T.V. on the recent regrettable developments in the Palestinian lands, said that the Israeli government was committing a big mistake if it thought that its current policy would lead to the security it had promised those who voted for it.

President Mubarak underlined that this policy would only lead to more damage and losses to the Israeli people.

He further noted that the Israeli policy would not intimidate the Arab peoples and governments, neither would it prevent them from supporting the Palestinian people until they attained their legitimate rights.

Time will prove that the current Israeli policy will only lead to fuelling feelings of hatred by some 300 million Arabs against Israel and those supporting it, said the president.

The President added that Israel's rejection to carry out Security Council resoltuion 1402, issued unanimously and calling for Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian lands, revealed the real face of the Israeli policy which derived its strength from military force.

This state of affairs requires the international community to take a decisive stance to bring the Israeli government back to its mind and force it to comply with international legitimacy rules, said President Mubarak.
