Russia and the situation in the ME region

The Russian deputy foreign minister Alexander Sultanov has stressed that the situation in the Middle East requires carrying out coordinated acts by the ME peace process cosponsors, Russia and the USA and also the EU and the UN.
During his meeting with the US ambassador in Moscow Alexander Virshbao, at his request, Sultanvo stressed the need of implementing UN security council resolution 1402 very soon and pulling out the Israeli forces from the occupied territories. He stressed that expelling the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat from the Palestinian territories will only result in increasing conflict in the region.
