Families of US diplomats working in Jerusalem permitted to leave Israel

The US on Tuesday decided to permit families of its diplomats accredited in its Consulate in Jerusalem to leave Israel. An official at the US state department asked not to be identified said " we have permitted the departure of the families and the US will bear the travel expenditures," noting that this decision was taken because of the conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories."

He added that this decision will be announced officially later in the framework of a statement notifying the American citizens on the dangers of traveling to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.
