Tunis hosts Arab conference on children radio and tv

Tunis will host April 3-6 a conference by Arab Radio Union under the theme "Radio, TV, and Children."

The meeting will discuss the importance given to children in Arab radio and TV programs, Arab policies in the field, cartoons production and children's rights.

Representatives of public and private bodies and production companies will also share views on how to improve the quality and increase the quantity of Arab audio-visual programs for children, the impact of foreign programs and the digital revolution on education, children personality and cultural identity.

Chairman of the union, Abdelhafid El Hergame, called Arab TV channels to endeavor to improve the quality of children programs, and encourage their producers.

El Hergame said the conference will adopt a number of recommendations to shape up an Arab common action to promote audiovisual production for children.
