Morocco's premier meets UAE delegation
Morocco-United Arab Emirates, Politics, 4/2/2002

Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi met in Rabat on Monday a United Arab Emirates delegation, that was led by chairman of Emirates carrier and of the UAE civil aviation, Sheikh Ahmed Ibn Saeed Al Maktoum, and that included UAE minister of communication, Ahmed Ettayer.

During the meeting, the two sides voiced satisfaction over the servicing of a Dubai-Casablanca line by the Emirates carrier and said the new line will give a boost to trade relations, a statement by the Prime Minister's office said. The Dubai-Casablanca flight, inaugurated on Sunday, will connect the two cities three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Talks also dealt with the tragic situation in the Palestinian territories and the need to enforce the resolutions of the latest Arab summit held in Beirut March 27-28. Youssoufi hailed the backing extended by the UAE to Arab causes and in the first instance the Palestinian cause. Sheikh Ahmed Ibn Saeed Al Maktoum had said upon arrival in Casablanca Sunday afternoon that the connection will play a key role in consolidating relations between the two sisterly countries, will contribute to the promotion of Moroccan tourism and will undoubtedly promote United Arab Emirates' investments in Morocco.
