Continued Russian cooperation with Iraq

The chairman of the Russian committee for international and scientific cooperation with Iraq Yuri Shafranik has stressed the determination of both Russia and Iraq to coordinate a long term program for bilateral cooperation including 67 projects in the area of oil, gas, transport and telecommunications.
In a statement he made in Moscow on Monday before heading for Baghdad on top of a delegation representing Russian members of parliament and businessmen, Shafranik stressed the need of Russian- Iraqi cooperation in all fields. He indicated that the 30th anniversary of signing the friendship treaty between the two countries which is currently celebrated constitutes an important event in the history of relations between the two sides.
