Lahoud denounced the US bias position
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 4/2/2002
The chairman of the Arab summit, the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud has denounced the international silence which encourages the Israeli prime to continue his policy which has threatened the region as a whole.
In a statement, the Lebanese President denounced the recent American positions which hold equal both the occupation force and resistance and ignore the fact that the Palestinian operations are but a result of the Israeli occupation and the bloody policy pursued by the Israeli government.
He said that the Israeli position which was launched by the Israeli prime minister on Sunday, once again reiterates the Israeli policy which rejects the peace initiative launched by the recent Arab summit and it is ripe time that Israel has to realize that the policy of imposing security by force will not succeed in pushing the Palestinians to give up their rights or in pushing the Palestinian authority to play the role of the policeman, in defense of this occupation.
He added that the Israeli society has to realize that the policy of his government pursued since one and a half years would not ensure security and stability as far as its army still occupies the Arab territories, rejecting the implementation of the UN resolutions.
In his capacity as a chairperson for the Arab summit, the Lebanese President called on various UN references to impose its will on Israel to prevent it from continuing this brutal policy.
