Old Ottoman decree to build Suez Canal, donated to Egypt
Turkey has donated to Egypt a copy of a 16th century Ottoman decree ordering preparations for the excavation of what would have been a forerunner to the Suez Canal, a source at Cairo state archives said Tuesday.

Research paper proves Al Farama fortress built during the Abbasid age
Latest studies revealed that AL Farama Fortress in Sinai belongs to the Abbasid age in the reign of Caliphs Al Mutawakel Billah. As such it is considered to be the oldest Abbasid monument In Egypt that precedes the Nilometer on the Roda Island in Cairo which was previously considered the oldest.
