Moroccan-Syrian information commission meets in Rabat
Morocco-Syria, Politics, 4/1/2002

The Moroccan-Syrian commission in charge of information started a meeting in Rabat Monday to look into means to upgrade bilateral cooperation.

The meeting is co-chaired by Moroccan minister of communication and culture, Mohamed Achaari, and Syrian information minister, Adnan Omran, who arrived in Morocco Sunday.

Addressing the meeting, Achaari called for stronger cooperation between Moroccan and Syrian radio stations, tv channels and news agencies. The promotion of cooperation in information sectors will positively impact other fields, he said. The meeting is held pursuant to the accords signed by Morocco and Syria last October and that provide for the meeting of a follow-up committee once a year, alternately in Morocco and Syria.
