Maher, Vedrine discuss situation in Palestinian territories

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher telephoned his French counterpart Hubert Vedrine on Sunday on the serious developments in the Palestinian terrorities.

The call is part of intensive contacts Maher is holding with the Arab and international parties concerned.

During the conversation, they exchanged viewpoints on the contacts made by Egypt and France to contain the deteriorating conditions.

Vedrine told Maher that sending a European delegation to the Palestinian. Territories turned into a difficult matter because European Union Middle East peace envoy Miguel Moratinos was unable to reach Ramallah and the Palestinian territories.

Meanwhile Maher received two telephone calls from Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hamoud and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa as part of the continued consultations to hold an emergency Arab summit and foreign ministerial session.
