Syrian governors sacked; new hospitals

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has issued decrees Nos. 93 and 94 and 95 connected with sacking, transferring and appointing a number of governors.

Decree no 93 provides for sacking Ali Bin Mu'alla Ahmad, Ahmad Subhi Kekhya and Husam Eddine al-Hakim as governors, respectively for Hassake, Sweida and Homs provinces.

Decree no 94 provides for transferring governors Salah Kannaj, Nawwaf al-Faress, Sobhi Hmeidah to the provinces of Damascus countryside, Quneitra, Homs and Sweida respectively.

Decree no. 95 provides for appointing Usama Hamed Adi as the governor of Aleppo, Khaled Dali al-Ahmad as governor of Deir ezz zour and Saleem Da'boul as governor of Hasakeh and Hussein Ali al-Haddar as a governor for Idleb.

The three decrees were issued according to provisions of the local administration law governed by the legislative decree no. 15 of 1971 and according to the Legislative Decree no.43 of 1971.

President al-Assad also issued laws nos. 24, 25, 26 and 27 which provide for establishing a number of hospitals in different governorates in Syria.

According to provisions of the said laws, the hospitals enjoy legal personality and financial and administrative independence, and are directly linked to the Syrian ministry of health. These hospitals aim to render different medical and treatment aid, to ensure training for physicians, resident physicians and students of intermediate institutes and nurseries and to carry out medical researches in different areas and specialization.
