Jordan warns Israel

The Jordanian foreign minister Marwan al-Mashaar has warned that Jordan will take measures against Israel if it will not pull out immediately from the Palestinian territories it had recently invaded.

Al-Mashaar said in statements to pressmen on Sunday that he had summoned the Israeli ambassador in Jordan David Dadoun, and informed to him Jordan's strong anger and its condemnation of the irresponsible Israeli practices, especially the breaking of the Israeli forces into the headquarters of the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat in Ramullah in the west Bank and warned that there are other measures that will be taken in case the Israeli government will not respond to immediate pull out from the Palestinian territories.

Al-Mashaar stressed Jordan's stand with the Palestinian people and described the Israeli behaviors as perpetuated and aiming at eliminating the peace process.

The Jordanian foreign minister told journalists that he had also summoned on the ambassadors of the UN Security Council five permanent states and conveyed to them the request of the Jordanian government on the need of having UN security forces in the occupied Palestinian territories and that he stressed to them Jordan's non confidence in any Israeli commitment.

He added that he also called on the UN security council five permanent member states to immediately implement UN Security council resolution and Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories.
