Lebanese president, Crown prince Abdullah review tense Palestinian conditions
Lebanon-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 4/1/2002
The Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz on Sunday in Beirut discussed with the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud results of the contacts Lebanon had made in its capacity as the head of the Arab summit in order to deal with the grave and tense situation in the Palestinian territories.
A statement released by the Lebanese presidency said that discussions dealt with steps that should be taken in light of the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
The crown prince briefed the Lebanese President with the efforts he had made at the regional and international levels and his contacts made to halt the Israeli aggression, especially contacts with the American administration.
The two sides assessed regional and international reactions to the decisions taken by the Arab summit, foremost being the importance of the Arab peace initiative which received a regional support but practically rejected by Israel through the attack it had launched against the Palestinian cities and the headquarters of the chairman of the Palestinian authority.
