The exhibition, held April 2-5 in Casablanca, is the major encounter of telecoms professionals who will also debate several associated topics, mainly the liberalization of the land phone system, Internet generalization and the future of mobile communication in Morocco.

Morocco will also be hosting Next September 23 through October 18 the ITU sixteenth plenipotentiary conference, the union supreme decision-making authority.

This is the first time that the international union is convening its top policy-making body in Africa and in the Arab states.

Marrakesh promises to be an excellent venue for the event with modern communications supporting all major capabilities and a transport infrastructure which reflects its importance as one of the major tourism hubs for the region, ITU says.
