Syrian - Jordanian trade exchange volume increases by 50%

Jordanian official economic sources have announced that the volume of trade exchange, exports and exports between Jordan and Syria, has increase at 50% and reached 72 million Jordanian dinars in 2001, from 48 million Jordanian dinars in the year 2000.
The sources explained that Jordan's exports to Syria increased by 60% during the said period of time and reached 25.6 million Jordanian dinars from 16 million dinars for 2000, while the Jordanian imports from Syria increased at 45% and reached 46.5 million dinars for 32 million dinars for 2000.
The sources said that Syria is in the fourth grade among other Jordan's partners of the Arab states after Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
