Mubarak to Arafat: stay or Sharon will destroy your place
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 3/27/2002
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak recommended the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat not to travel to Beirut if the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon will be obliged to permit him to return back to Ramullah.
The Hebrew language Israeli radio said that Mubarak suggested to Arafat to address a speech via satellites to the Arab Kings and Presidents who are meeting in the Lebanese capital.
The radio quoted the Egyptian President as saying that Arafat going out of Ramullah will enable Sharon from destroying the headquarters of the chairman of the Palestinian Authority in Ramullah and alienating him ultimately outside the Palestinian territories after destroying his last premises.
