Cypriot minister's visit to Egypt a success
Egypt-Cyprus, Politics, 3/26/2002

Cypriot Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism Nicos Rolandis lauded President Hosni Mubarak role as a great leader with a dynamic personality in the Middle East region and a friend of Cyprus.

Rolandis expressed hope that Mubarak's efforts to realise peace in the Mideast would be fruitful.

In pre-departure statements the minister voiced regret over the current cycle of violence between the Palestinians and Israelis.

He pressed for the need to work out a solution satisfactory to the Palestinian people that would put an end to half a century of Arab Israeli conflict.

Rolandis voiced his country's support for the recent initiative floated by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to reach a settlement for the problem on the bases of international legitimacy resolutions.

The minister termed the outcome of his visit to Egypt and his talks with Egyptian officials as successful, especially as regards the trade, tourism, industry and energy domains.
