Iraq, Politics, 3/26/2002
The UN has set April 18 as a date for the meeting between the UN secretary general Kofi Annan with the Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri in order to discuss the possibility of the return back of UN inspectors to Iraq.
The spokesman for the UN Fred Eckhard said on Monday that Annan will be meeting with an Iraqi delegation on April 18 and 19 to discuss the return back of UN inspectors for the second time this year. The UN spokesman added he hopes he will get from the Iraqi delegation which will be led by the foreign minister Naji Sabri a positive reply to the request made by the UN Security Council provided for the return back of the UN inspectors to resume their work.
The Iraqi delegation handed over Annan during the previous meeting on March 7th a list of questions which, he by his turn handed it to the UN Security Council.
