$ 400 billion for rebuilding the Iraqi cities
Iraq-Regional, Economics, 3/26/2002
The Iraqi minister of labor and social affairs Sadee Abbas has stated that the volume of investments for rebuilding the Iraqi towns is estimated at USD 400 billion during the 10 coming years, noting that that will be a great opportunity to intensify economic cooperation between Iraq and the Arab and international companies.
Saade said that despite the fact that Iraq has been under international sanctions for more than 11 years, however, it could reactivate trade and economic deals with several Arab states and this is crystal clear in Iraq's announcement that it will offer all Arab companies of both the private or public sectors, priorities in its foreign deals in the context of the oil-for-food program.
The Iraqi minister stressed that the policies pursued by his country resulted in several results, mainly increasing the volume of trade with the foreign world especially the Arab states and also signing several free trade agreements with several Arab states.
