US will ask Israel to permit Arafat attending the Arab summit

Israeli political sources said that the US will ask the Israeli government to permit the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat from leaving Ramullah in order to take part in the Arab summit conference to be held in Beirut.
The Israeli Hebrew language radio quoted a well-informed source at the Israeli embassy in Washington as saying that the American administration is concerned with Arafat's participation in the Summit conference as his participation would contribute to giving a basic push forward to adopting the Saudi crown prince initiative by the Arab Kings and Presidents, while his ( Arafat) absence will lead to create a frustration in this initiative."
