Upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Union in April 2003 in Chile

The council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) decided on Saturday that the IPU coming session (the 108th one) will be held in April 2003 in Santiago (Chile).
The council also decided to meet in September in Geneva to set the 108th session agenda. The 107th session held this March 17-22 in Marrakesh brought together 1,827 delegates, including 60 speakers, in addition to representatives of international and regional organizations and non-governmental organizations. IPU was set up in 1889 in Geneva. It musters 142 parliaments and 5 regional legislative assemblies.
