Historian Martin Krefflid: Israel will not defeat the Palestinians

The military historian Martin van Kreffland has said that the history of the Arab - Israeli conflict has proved that Israel will not be able to defeat the Palestinians, despite the tremendous military force it owns.

The US "Time" magazine quoted Kreffland who works at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem that the Israeli army might be one of the strongest armies in the world, fighting the Palestinians who only own guns, pistols and locally made mortar bombs, and despite of that the equilibrium will be flipped down when it comes to will.

The historian added that the readiness of the Palestinians to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their freedoms has started to raise doubts in the Israelis on the use of deploying Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza. He stressed that the morals of the Israeli soldiers started to collapse because of the pressure resulted from the continuous Palestinian Intifada. He cited an example on that when hundreds of reserve Israeli soldiers refused to serve in the West bank and Gaza.

He stressed that the only solution to get Israel out of its bottle neck is to pull out from the West Bank and Gaza.
