Morocco's exports of food products decrease by 10.5% by january

Moroccan exports of food products were worth 1.6 billion DH in January 2002 (US$ 137.9 million), recording a 10.5% drop compared to 1.8 Billion DH (US$ 155 million) in the same month of last year, says the exchange office.
The drop concerned mainly exports of shell-fish, mollusks, tomatoes and fresh vegetables. The source also reports a progression by more than two folds in citrus fruits exports which went up from 270.3 million DH (US$ 23.3 million) in January 2001 to 657.6 million DH (US$ 56.6 million).
Meanwhile, the share of food products in exports lost 2.7 points (25.3% against 28%). (MAP)SH
