Mubarak lays cornerstone of National Unity
Egypt, Culture, 3/23/2002

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak laid the foundation stone of Egypt's national unity, said Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria and Saint Mark Dioceses.

The Egyptians are one People and there is no difference between Muslim or a Christian as both of them are partner in building and defending the country, said Pope Shenouda, during laying down a new church in Sharm El-Sheikh yesterday.

Moreover, Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria will visit Australia this year at the invitation of some Egyptian Coptic institutions there.

Pope Shenouda had met recently some heads of organisations and representatives of the Coptic churches in Australia to review his itinerary during the visit, said sources at the Cathedral in Cairo.

They added that the visit, which will be the eminent Egyptian clerics first to Australia in six years, has been tentatively set for November.
