Agreement on Euro-Mediterranean participation in pan-European cumulation of origin
Regional-European Union, Economics, 3/22/2002

Euro-Mediterranean Trade Ministers held their second meeting on 19 March in Toledo, Spain. They stressed that steps had been taken to further implement the existing bilateral and regional free trade agreements between Mediterranean Partners.

They agreed to the principle of the Partners' participation to the system of pan-European cumulation of origin while urging Partners wishing to join to take the necessary steps to adapt their respective Association and free trade agreements as soon as possible. Ministers demanded that the Working Group on Trade in Services hold sectoral meetings in 2002 and 2003.

Ministers decided to create a Working Group on Trade Measures Relevant for Regional Integration which they instructed to implement an Action Plan on Trade and Investment Facilitation. Finally on WTO issues they highlighted their strong will to co-ordinate closely.
