Ten persons killed by armed Islamists in Algeria

The Algerian dailies issued on Thursday said that clashes between the demonstrators and the Algerian security forces continued on Wednesday but with less violence in several cities of al-Qabael district, where acts of violence were resumed since 10 days, while news reports said that 10 persons were assassinated on Tuesday evening at the hands of armed groups in two remote villages in the Western part of the country.
The Algerian daily La Tribune said that 6 persons from one family were killed while sleeping in the remote village of Souq al-Had (Sunday Market) to the north of Tismislit ( 280 Km to the west of Algeria), besides that they were shot, while they were sleeping by the gunmen before they were slaughtered. The father and the mother were beheaded, noting that the attackers distorted the corpses of the mother and father and their four children. The paper said that the father is a pro- government militia member fighting the government forces against the Islamists.
On Tuesday night, according to the Algerian daily al-Mujahid, an armed group intercepted four farmers and slaughtered them, adding that the attackers burnt the corpses.
