Continued dialogue between Sudan, the USA
Sudan-USA, Politics, 3/19/2002

The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has stressed continued security dialogue between Khartoum and Washington.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Anbaa issued on Monday, the Sudanese minister expected Washington's direct interference to attain a political solution and establishing peace in the country. He said that the US policy towards Sudan is currently based on establishing peace and halting the war, stressing that the solution in Sudan should be made in the framework of Sudan's unity of both the south and the north.

On the other hand, Minister Ismael stressed that preparations have been completed to convene a conference for the foreign ministers of the Islamic states in Khartoum in June in order to discuss the Palestinian question, and economic and political cooperation between the Islamic states, stressing support for the Palestinian Intifada by all means.
