Sudan denies arresting an al-Qaida member on its territories

The Sudanese minister of the interior Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hussein has denied news stated by the British daily Sunday Times on Sunday that the Sudanese authorities arrested one important member in al-Qaida organization called Abu Anas (the Libyan).

The Sudanese daily al-Sahafi al-Dawli issued on Monday quoted the said minister as saying that this information is baseless and that the Sudanese security forces is carrying out its full role in implementing Sudan's independent policy according to its unwavering stances aiming at fighting terrorism and cooperating with the international community to eliminate it.

Meantime, the advisor of the Sudanese President for peace affairs Ghazi Salah Eddine denied such news. He said in a statement to the same paper that the government has no information on what has been stated in this regard.
