Slight progress in talks between Palestinians, Israelis
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/19/2002

A Palestinian official said that a slight progress was attained during security meetings on redeploying the Israeli army in Beit Hanoun and opening the main roads in Gaza, noting that the Israeli side did not commit to that, despite the fact the actual implementation of the pullout should have started on Monday evening.

The secretary of the Fatah movement Marwan al-Barghouthi accused the American broker Anthony Zinni of total bias to Israel and expected that his current mission will fail. He added that the US is a side and not a neutral broker and that Zinni only debated the Israeli demands, adding that discussing the Tenet plan is a waste of time because there is still occupation.

One Palestinian youth was killed by the bullets of the Israeli forces near the aggregation of the Israeli settlements of Ghoushe Katieve in Gaza and two Palestinians were wounded when the Israeli soldiers opened fire at them in Hebron.

In London, hundreds of persons demonstrated before the quarters of the British government in support of the Palestinian question and in protest of the British silence towards the practices of the Israeli forces against the Palestinians. The demonstrators denounced "the massacres committed by Sharon" and demanded the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories.
