Egypt, Arab states to discuss Palestinian and Iraq-Kuwait problems

Cairo is witnessing important talks and consultations by President Hosni Mubarak with Arab leaders and officials for bringing the peace process back to track and coordinating stances before Beirut Summit that is scheduled to be held on March 27.
Mubarak will receive Syrian President Bashar Assad on Wednesday, and will today receive Ali Abul Ragheb the Jordanian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and will tomorrow receive Prince Saudi Al Faisal, the Saudi Foreign Minister.
Syrian President Bashar AL Assad is due, in Cairo on Wednesday for a summit meeting with President Mubarak in the framework of the sustained consultations between Egypt and Syria, exchanging views on regional issues, the situation in the Middle East and coordinating stands before Beirut summit.
Reporting from Damascus, al-Ahram said his spouse and a high level delegation including Foreign Minister Farouq AL Sharaa and a number of senior Syrian officials would accompany President Assad.
In Cairo AFP reported that the two leaders would discuss the developments in the occupied lands, the Saudi initiative, and the Kuwaiti-Iraqi state of affair.
In the framework of President Mubarak efforts to push forward the peace process and coordinating stances before Beirut summit, President Mubarak today received Ali Abul Ragheb the Jordanian Prime Minister who is due in Cairo on flying visit during which Foreign Minister Marwan AL Maashar will accompany him.
During his meeting with President Mubarak, Abul Ragheb will convey a message from King Abdullah II of Jordan dealing with the situation in the region, the latest development on the Palestinian arena, efforts exerted for bringing the peace process back to track and returning to negotiating table in the framework of the sustained coordination between President Mubarak and King Abdullah before the convening of the Arab summit conference in Beirut late this month.
Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said talks between President Mubarak and the Jordanian officials come in the framework of consultations on the situation in the occupied lands and preparations for the next Arab summit conference in Beirut.
The Foreign Minister said Egypt and Jordan are exerting sustained efforts for supporting Palestinian people's rights, laying down the basis of a just and comprehensive peace in which the independent Palestinian state co-exists in security with Israel after it abandons its hostile practices.
Egypt, Jordan and the entire Arab world seek ways to promote peace initiatives, including the proposal submitted by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz which is based on full land for full peace under the Madrid terms of reference and the Cairo Arab summit of 1996, he added.
Prime Minister Atef Ebeid will meet with his Jordanian counterpart and Foreign Minister Marwan AL Maashar to discuss bilateral relations.
Sameh Fahmi the Minister of Petroleum will meet with Jordanian Minister of Energy for discussing a project for exporting the Egyptian gas to Jordan.
