Arab states deeply concerned by India's military cooperation with Israel
Israel-India, Politics, 3/18/2002
The British weekly specialized in the military and intelligence affairs has commented on the military and intelligence cooperation between India and Israel. It said in its recent issue that the Indian policy towards the Middle East has been inclined in recent years for the interests of Israel and New Delhi has alienated from its traditional support to the Arabs.
The magazine added that the growing strategic ties between India and Israel has become a source of deep concern to the Arab states. It indicated that India preferred to keep a neutral side concerning the Palestinian Intifada. A matter which goes in contradiction to its previous positions in which it used to condemn the Israeli aggressions against the Palestinians, automatically.
The weekly indicated that the current Indian position towards the Middle East issues is based on " general phrases " concerning the peace process and this resulted in a feeling of frustration in the Palestinian because of the India negative stand. The weekly also noted India's commending what New Delhi had called " Israel's practicing of self- control." N.
