British parliamentarians oppose plans to strike Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 3/18/2002

The number of British parliament members from the Labor party who oppose to any military act against Iraq has increased to 100, in a clear evidence to the mounting opposition inside the British house of commons to any of the American plans towards Iraq.

A British parliamentary spokesman said that those parliamentarians oppose any inclination to the British government to get British soldiers taking part in any possible war against Iraq, noting that this opposition is increasing daily. A matter which constitute an obstacle for the British prime minister Tony Blair if he tries to join the American policy towards Iraq.

In a report about this issue, the British daily The Times on Saturday said that Blair can support the American plans against Iraq but he has to pass, before doing that, an internal battle represented in the strong parliamentary opposition.
