Jordanian King warns against striking Iraq

The Jordanian King Abdullah II has warned against the consequences of the US striking of Iraq on the security and the stability of the Middle East region.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the French daily Le Figaro, the Jordanian King said that striking Iraq will constitute a catastrophe on the security and stability of the region which is in an intensive position in the occupied Palestinian territories, calling for a dialogue between the UN and Iraq.
The Jordanian King said he had told the US Vice President Dick Cheney that the region "does not bear striking Baghdad."
The Jordanian King also called for practicing pressure to resume negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, stressing the need of reaching a just peace in the Middle East so as to achieve security.
