Egyptian- Yemeni security cooperation

The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has stressed that Egypt's security is of concern to Yemen and vice versa. This was expressed during the meeting between President Saleh and the Egyptian minister of the interior Habib al- Adili.
During the meeting which was attended by the Yemeni minister of the interior Rashad al-Oleimi discussions dealt with areas of cooperation between the two states in the security field and the results of the discussions al- Adili held with each of the Yemeni prime minister Abdul Qader Bajmal and his Yemeni counterpart.
Discussions also dealt with technical cooperation and the exchange of information and expertise and increasing cooperation in the area of training and qualifying police and security men cadres and facilitate measures on the entry of the two states' citizens.
In the joint statement issued in conclusion of the visit of the Egyptian minister of the interior to Sanaa which last for four days, both Egypt and Yemen expressed their condemnation to all terrorist acts and voiced commitment to fighting terrorism crimes and taking into account the distinction between terrorism, and the right of people to resist the Israeli occupation. Al-Adili described the visit as successful and fruitful and noted that means of reactivating the security agreement between the two countries signed in 1996, war reviewed.
The Egyptian minister also announced that the Egyptian airline establishment will resume its flights to Yemen by the end of the current month.
In statements to the Egyptian daily al-Ahram issued on Friday, the Yemeni minister of the interior Rashad al-Alami said that Yemen will not hesitate to hand over any of the persons on its territories and wanted by Egypt. He stressed that the Yemeni security force will not permit any person to stay in Yemen if he constitutes a danger to the Egyptian security.
