No German attack against Iraq without UN mandate
Iraq-Germany, Politics, 3/15/2002
Germany will not take part in the likely event of US-led attack on Iraq without a clear UN mandate, a government spokeswoman cited Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as saying Friday. "The chancellor has repeatedly stated that Germany would not participate in military adventures," Charima Reinhardt said during a press briefing. "It's his basic position which the Americans also know," she added, IRNA reported today.
