Algerian Home Minister in Morocco
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 3/15/2002

Algerian home minister, Noureddine Yazid Zerhouni, arrived in Rabat this Friday morning on a work visit at the invitation of his Moroccan peer, Driss Jettou.

In a statement to reporters upon arrival in Rabat, the Algerian official expressed hope that his visit would contribute to "the development of bilateral relations in the frame of the respect of the concerns of all Maghrebans."

Talks with his Moroccan peer will deal with "all issues posed between Morocco and Algeria," he said.

The visit was planned by the two ministers last November. Driss Jettou had then visited Algeria to convey a message from King Mohammed VI to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, condoling the Algerian people following the floods that hit the country and to ponder with his Algerian peer on means of reactivating bilateral cooperation to enhance it to the two states' expectations.
