King Mohammed congratulates Islamic world leaders on advent of new hegira year

Morocco's King Mohammed VI has sent to the Islamic world leaders messages of congratulations on the occasion of the advent of the new Hegira year, to be marked on Saturday in Morocco.

King Mohammed VI expressed to the kings, emirs and heads of state of Islamic countries warm congratulations and best wishes for personal health and happiness and to their brotherly peoples further progress and prosperity.

"This is an opportunity for us to remember together the noble values incarnated by this celebration that evokes the Prophet's behavior as well as the virtues of sacrifice, altruism and attachment to God's pact and to the noble ideals of solidarity and brotherhood among Muslims," the sovereign said, adding "these virtues will remain for ever an inexhaustible source inspiring us more trust in ourselves and in the future of our Islamic Ummah and spurring us to work to promote our Ummah's human and material resources to enable it contribute, fully and legitimately thanks to an efficient presence on the international scene, to consolidating world stability and development and promoting peace, tolerance and coexistence among the world peoples and civilizations."

"I am confident that thanks to these noble principles and values and thanks to sustained action to materialize them within our societies, the Islamic Ummah shall take up all challenges, secure a better future to mounting generations and free all its spoiled lands and in the first instance the combatant Palestine, with its capital Al-Quds Acharif," King Mohammed VI said, expressing pride at the ties of brotherhood and solidarity existing between Morocco and brotherly Islamic countries.
