Middle East developments evidence failure of Sharon's policy
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 3/15/2002

The latest developments in the Middle East evidence the failure and bankruptcy of Israel's policy, Hassan Barghouti, Chief of the Palestinian Workers Rights Center, said.

The Palestinian militant visited Morocco to participate in a rally organized in Rabat by the civil society in support for the Palestinian people.

Barghouti told Moroccan channel TVM Tuesday that the Zionist thought and policy, which deny the Palestinians' right to self-determination, are close to their end.

Because of the Israeli economic blockade the rate of unemployment among Palestinians jumped to 26%, and the (disguised) unemployment reached 40%, he added.

Closing the Israeli market deprived some 200,000 Palestinian workers, in charge of about 2 million people, from their right to work, and caused the loss of their owed wages, Barghouti said at another interview with 2M.
