Yaaloun to succeed Mofaz as chief of staff for Israeli army

The media advisor for the Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aliazer said that it was announced on Thursday to recommend the government appointing Maj. Gen. Moshe Yaaloun, the deputy chief of staff for the Israeli army as its chief.
The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon approves this nomination which will be submitted to the committee in charge of appointing senior state employees and then to the government, according to the law.
After the nomination will be approved, Yaaloun will succeed Shaoul Mofaz as a chief of the staff on April 9th when Mofaz's term of office will expire.
Moshe Ya'loun was born in 1950 in Kreyat Haem in Israel. He joined the Israeli army in 1968. He served in the "Parachuting" weapons of Nahhal contingent in the Israeli army.
