Morocco, Guinea to set up business council
Morocco-Guinea, Economics, 3/14/2002
Morocco and Guinea convened Tuesday to set up a business council during the 5th session of their joint cooperation commission to be held in the course of the current year.
The two sides also agreed to work out a cooperation program and to trade information and experience mainly in matters of staff training, a statement by the federation of the Moroccan chambers of commerce, industry and services said.
The decisions were made at a meeting between executives of the federation and the chairman of the Guinean chamber of commerce, industry and handicraft, Elhadj Ousmane Balde.
Both sides conceded that trade exchanges are below existing potentials, mainly in the sectors of mining and agri-business.
Morocco's imports from Guinea are mainly made up of coffee while its exports to the African country consist of ready to war garments, shoes and canned fish.
The federation of Moroccan chambers and the Guinean chamber are bound since 1997 by a cooperation accord.
