Damascus: Seif's sentence next week

The third and last defendant witness in the trial of the independent parliament member Riyadh Seif on Wednesday denied Seif to have had demanded the change of the constitution illegally or provoked any sectarian provocation or even forming a secret society. Accusations which were stated by the decision on the ground of which Seif was arrested in September 2001.
Youssef Salman (member of the national dialogue forum committee) was the third and last witness who was permitted by the defendant to summon for testimony.
At the time when the Attorney General did not ask for a special witness, nor addressed questions to the three witnesses brought by the defendants, defendant lawyers see that just few days remain before judge Jasem Muhammad will isssue his ruling in the first open political trial in Syria.
