Full text of UN security council resolution 1397 on Palestine - Israel

The following is the full text of the UN security council resolution non 1397 which for the first time refers to a "Palestinian state:"

The UN Security Council on the ground of its previous resolutions concerned especially UN resolutions 242 of ( 1967) and 338 of 1973, committing to a vision based on an area of where the states of Israel and Palestine coexist side by side within secure and recognized borders, pushed by its concern towards the continued violent and catastrophic events since September 2000 especially the recent attacks and the increase in the number of victims, indicates the need of work of all sides concerned to ensure the security of civilians. And also the need of honoring the international measures stated in the International humanitarian Law, praises the efforts made by the diplomatic efforts made by the envoys of the US, Russia, the European Union and the UN special coordinator and others in order to reach a just and complete peace in the Middle East. It also commends the contribution of the Saudi crown prince Abdullah demanding:
1.. Immediate halting of all acts of violence including acts of terrorism and all forms of provocation and destruction
2.. Demand the Israeli and Palestinian sides and their leaderships to cooperate in order to implement the Tenet plan and Mitchell package report with the aim to resume the negotiations for finding out a political settlement
3. Expressed its support for the efforts of the UN secretary general and others helping to put an end to violence and resuming the peace process.
4. Decided to keep the issue under follow up.
