Al-Shara discusses in Austria for strengthening bilateral relations

The Deputy Premier and foreign minister Farouk al- Shara arrived in Vienna on Tuesday in an official visit to the Republic of Austria.

At Vienna International Airport al-Shara was welcomed by several high ranking officials at the Austrian foreign ministry and the Syrian ambassador in Vienna Safwan Ghanem and the Austrian ambassador in Damascus.

Earlier in the day, al-Shara left Damascus for Vienna at the invitation of the Austrian foreign minister. During this visit he will hold official meetings with high ranking Austrian officials on developments in the Middle East especially the deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories and the need that the European Union will play its due role to formulate an international position that would contribute to put an end to the aggressive Israeli policy against the Palestinian people.

Discussions also dealt with bilateral relations between the two friendly countries Syria and Austria and means of strengthening them in all fields.
