Israel refuses UN observers in Palestinian territories
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/12/2002

Israel has renewed its rejection to the deployment of UN observers or multi-national forces in the occupied Palestinians territories to ensuring the protection of the Palestinian and to reduce the level of violence.

Israeli political sources told the Israeli radio on Monday that Israel does not oppose having UN envoys for monitoring in the Palestinian territories with the beginning of the tour of the US general Anthony Zinni to the region.

The sources explained that the American envoys who are expected to arrive with Zinni and who were approved by Israel are employees of the CIA, noting that their number at the CIA office in Tel Aviv tolled ten.

The sources added that an agreement will be made by the US and Israel during talks to be held today on deploying these employees and the sort of work they will do.
