Al-Shara discusses with Mousa, al-Faisal, Maher, Hammoud regional developments

The Syrian deputy premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Friday in Cairo held a series of meetings that dealt with the deteriorated conditions in the Palestinian territories and issues debated at the agenda of the Arab League (AL) council due to be held today.

At his residence in Cairo on Saturday, al-Shara met with the secretary general of the Arab league Amr Moussa and discussed with him issues debated at the agenda of meetings of the Arab foreign ministers and the deteriorated conditions in the occupied Arab territories as a result of the continued Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people and the grave reflections of these aggressions against security and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by the deputy foreign minister Suleiman Haddad, the Syrian ambassador in Cairo Youssef Ahmad and ministry officials concerned.

News reports said that a tripartite Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi meeting was held in Cairo on Friday included al-Shara, the Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal and the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher during which discussions dealt with issues debated on the meeting of the AL council held at the level of foreign ministers.

On Friday evening al-Shara met with the Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud. Talks dealt with works of the Arab foreign ministers and the tense conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the continued Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people.

Al-Shara arrived in Cairo on Friday afternoon to take part in the meetings of the Arab League council at the level of the foreign ministers and meetings of the Arab follow up committee to be convened today at the AL premises.
