Iraq-Lebanon, Economics, 3/7/2002
Iraq's vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan said on Wednesday that Lebanon and Iraq have completed measures to sign an agreement for free exchange to be signed very soon.
The Iraqi news agency quoted Ramadan as saying that "Lebanon and Iraq have completed the measures provided for signing the agreement to eliminate customs barriers and establishing a free trade zone between them. It is hoped that these will be signed very soon."
Ramadan's statements were made during his meeting with a Lebanese delegation visiting Iraq to take part in a seminar on Iraqi- Lebanese relations organized by the council of the secretaries of Beit al-Hikmah (the house of wisdom) with the Arab national forum. He explained that in his trade contacts, Iraq has the same vision and is ready to deal with all Arab states including Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabia.
