Moroccan associations call Annan to help lift siege on moroccans detained in Tindouf
Morocco, Politics, 3/6/2002

A group of civil society associations have called on United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan to endeavor for lifting the siege imposed on the Moroccan Saharawis forcibly detained by the Polisario separatists in the Tindouf, south-western Algeria.

The associations, meeting here last week, urged Annan to urgently intervene to put an end to the ordeals of the Moroccans sequestered in Tindouf.

They equally voiced determination to continue working for the preservation of Morocco's territorial integrity and expressed opposition to any attempt to partition the Moroccan Sahara.
